About the Artist: Joan Hernandez Pijuan (Spanish, 1931–2005) studied engraving and lithography at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He exhibited widely in Spain, France, Germany, South Korea, and the U.S. in galleries such as Renate Bender in Munich, Xippas in Paris, Ramis Barquet in New York, and MACBA in Barcelona. His works are held in the Guggenheim in New York, the National Gallery in Montreal, the Museo de Arte Moderno in Buenos Aires, the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, and Galerie Marlborough in London.
