This is an original, one-of-a-kind painting by Norfolk, Connecticut-based artist John Funt entitled A Window in Paris, 2026. Featuring a vintage wood frame chosen by the artist specifically for the painting.

From the artist: "The view needed to define the subject here. Imagine the room I had at age 20 during a "junior year abroad." The address, 12, rue Gay Lussac in the Latin Quarter was steps from the Luxembourg Garden. Here I have brought cut flowers home from the local market and am feeling on top of the world. It's amazing to me that an experience of fifty years ago should still shape the way I see things and define the things I love to have around me."

About the Artist: John Funt

Born in 1953 in New York City, John is the son of the late Allen Funt, creator and longtime host of the TV program Candid Camera. John studied art with sculptor Rhys Caparn at the Dalton School in New York and with painter Joseph Slate at Kenyon College in Ohio. He later worked as a designer of events for The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and then as a designer for Tiffany & Company. For many years since, John has devoted himself to painting. He is based in Norfolk, Connecticut.

"I literally divide my time between the studio and the adjoining greenhouse and garden—both provide a needed refuge. I will take a plant cutting to the easel and paint/study it. I celebrate patterns in leaves, petals, textiles and happily disappear into the process!"
