This abstract composition by contemporary artist Catharine Warren is done in mixed media. Pieces of ripped black paper compose the main form set on a green ground and puncuated by spots and strokes of gold and black paint. The artwork is framed in a lightly gilded vintage carved wood frame. Bunny has long loved her work for its bold colors and spontaneity.

About the Artist: Born in Portland, Oregon, Catharine Warren studied at Sarah Lawrence College alongside Friedel Dzubas and Ansei Uchima, among others. She has held studios globally in Rome, Paris and New York. Her work has been shown in a variety of spaces including Acquavella, Mas de a Dame in Provence and Galerie Hopkins in Paris. She also shows her work in corporate spaces such as Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan Chase. Today, she resides and continues to work in Palm Beach, Florida. She is interested in abstraction from nature. She paints as well as collage. Warren utilizes both a mix of vibrant colors and earth tones.
